History
The company ‘Lechpol Zbigniew Leszek’ with the seat in Miętne 122 came into existence on July 6th, 1990 and was registered in the record of economic activity under the no. 201 in Urząd Gminy Garwolin (Garwolin Municipality Office). Back then Zbigniew Leszek – Head of the Sport Centre, functioning within the structures of ZSR Miętne (Secondary Agriculture Schools in Miętne), teacher with a flair for sport, decided to give up his current, interesting job and start up a one-man business after he had done a brief electronics market analysis and accepted the guidelines of people who knew the needs of that particular industry. It all boiled down at first to the import and sale of integrated circuits ready to use in the PAL-SECAM TV systems that were about to enter the Polish market those days. Another core of business interest were sound systems for TV and radio sets. The first period in enterprise was marked by the circuit types MDA 3510 as well as MCA 660 that used to be manufactured in Tesla Factory (Czechoslovakia) and imported afterwards to Poland from Czechoslovakian electronics shops and wholesales.
With emotion he now remembers monthly flights to Singapore that stood in agenda those days, visits to customers by a good old-timer FIAT 125p, then a bit later by LADA 2107, trips to Warsaw with the aim to send a fax in the post office, the first, brick-size mobile phone as well as a tape recorder voice mail.
Polish electronics market of the time could still be considered a backwater, hence it tended to absorb all imported components necessary to adjust RTV devices in tune with the system operating in Poland. It applied both to obsolete appliances and more contemporary equipment coming from the Western Europe and Asia. Such a state of affairs triggered rampant growth in sales faced by importers of technological components, scarcely present at that time, as well as rapid development of companies dealing in the industry.
Already in the first year of Lechpol presence on the market the company took on first employees, who happened to be Grzegorz Kamiński and Jerzy Kamiński. They hold responsibility for stores management and accountancy, while today enjoy managerial posts. Soon the company expanded its scope of operations to accommodate import from Asia. It marketed the most recent integrated circuits received from the Singapore suppliers (Hsin Electronics, Micro Electronics, Lionex Electronics). Those were manufactured by the largest market players, including Philips, Thomson, Motorola, Siemens. Components were adapted to more technologically advanced TV systems (examples here encompass the integrated circuits types TDA 4510, TDA 4555, TDA 4556, TDA 3592, SAA 3010, SDA 5423 P/H, lines DL 711, filters SFE 5.5, SFE 6.5, transistors, etc.
At the time the core of Lechpol clientele was made up by producers of decoders, sound systems and teletexts for new RTV equipment as well as factories launching TV and radio sets in Poland, e.g. Elpol Kalisz, Prolejko Pruszcz Gdański, K-Elektronik Łapy, MJM Warszawa, WZT Warszawa, Biazet Białystok, Tezet Teresin, Blaberk-Philips. Distribution and retail sales were areas managed by brothers of the owner. Currently they run similar trade companies.
